Reporting, originality, and sources

Authors must report research accurately and in sufficient detail to support scrutiny. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements, plagiarism, and undisclosed reuse are unacceptable.

  • Quoted material must be clearly identified and cited.
  • Sources and contributions must be acknowledged accurately.
  • A manuscript must not be under concurrent consideration elsewhere.
  • Authors must be prepared to address questions about the accuracy or validity of their data.

Research participants and data

Authors must protect participant privacy and obtain informed consent where identification is necessary. Images and data must be described accurately and must not be improperly manipulated.

Misconduct and the scholarly record

Potential misconduct is investigated by the editorial team. Where the published record requires amendment, AHRJIS may issue a correction, retraction, or withdrawal notice that remains linked to the affected article.
